ALLEYNE & CO. DESIGNS
the living well study
An 8-week virtual consulting engagement — available worldwide
Your home should no longer be considered just a shelter. It is the primary environment where you navigate work, rest, and sensory processing, and the reality is that most spaces will subtly undermine your wellbeing.
Invisible spatial stressors such as, harsh lighting at inappropraite times, hard acoustic surfaces, and materials that provide no sensory grounding, tend to drain your cognitive battery, disrupt your sleep, and keep your nervous system in a low-grade state of activation. The Living Well Study identifies and resolves these frictions, one calibrated adjustment at a time.
NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION
Most homes are silently draining. The wrong light at the wrong hour, surfaces that bounce sound, materials that offer nothing to hold onto, your body registers all of it, even when your mind doesn't. This study recalibrates your environment so it works to settle you, not sustain the tension.

COGNITIVE CLARITY
Focus isn't just a discipline problem, it's often a spatial one. When your environment creates low-grade friction, your mental energy is spent managing it rather than directed toward your work, your rest, or the people around you. The adjustments made here are designed to remove that friction entirely.
LASTING BASELINE
03
Most design interventions end when the project does. The Living Well Study closes with a documented baseline, a written record of what your environment needs to keep supporting you. Something to return to, build from, and refine as your life evolves.
THE STUDY — THREE PHASES OVER EIGHT WEEKS
THE SPATIAL & SENSORY INTAKE (Weeks 1 - 2)
PHASE 1
We begin with a dual audit of design elements and environmental factors. You will be asked to complete a digital questionnaire covering things like your daily routines, focus barriers, sleep practises, and sensory preferences. Alongside this, we ask that you share photographs and dimensions of your primary living and working zones.
This phase is designed to surface what the space is doing to you, and simply not just what it looks like. The questionnaire takes approximately 20–30 minutes and can be completed at your own pace.
DELIVERABLE: Completed intake profile used to guide your personalized analysis in Phase 2
THE VIRTUAL ANALYSIS & BLUEPRINT (Weeks 3- 4)
PHASE 2
We meet for a focused 1-hour virtual walkthrough via Google Meet. Together, we examine the natural light trajectories, artificial colour temperatures, acoustic vulnerabilities, and the material textures of your environment, reading the space as a sensory system, and not a decorative one.
What follows is your Home Guidance Blueprint: a curated, non-structural playbook delivered to your inbox, outlining things like exact adjustments for light placement, sound dampening, layout optimization, and grounding textures.
THE HOME GUIDANCE BLUEPRINT: A personalized, written playbook. These are clear, actionable, and specific to your space.
THE INTEGRATION & REFLECTION - (Weeks 5 - 8)
PHASE 3
You implement the adjustments at your own pace, supported by the Blueprint.
At week 6, we will reach out to schedule a brief call or video check-in; a short pulse on what has landed, what hasn't, and whether anything in your Blueprint needs adjusting before we close out together. This is not a scheduled session, simply a considered moment to make sure the process is working for you.
The study closes at week 8 with a 30-minute integration call to review the shifts in your energy, focus, and nervous system regulation, and to document a baseline for your ongoing well-being.
This final conversation is as much about anchoring what you have noticed as it is about next steps. Many clients find it becomes a reference point they return to.
DELIVERABLE: Week 6 pulse check-in + 30-minute integration call + documented well-being baseline for ongoing reference.
THE HOME GUIDANCE BLUEPRINT — WHAT’S INCLUDED
Your environment, precisely recalibrated
The Blueprint is the central deliverable of The Living Well Study. It is not a mood board or a shopping list, this is a clear, evidence-informed set of adjustments specific to how your nervous system interacts with your space.
Light placement & colour temperature guidance
Layout and circulation optimization
Material biophilia adjustments
Acoustic vulnerability mapping
Grounding texture recommendations
Sensory sequencing by room and time of day
FROM THE STUDIO - FURTHER READING
Your home has a nervous system. Here is how to stop overwhelming it.
Most people experience their home as either restful or draining and never quite understand why. An exploration of neuroarchitecture, sensory design, and the invisible spatial forces shaping your daily energy, focus, and sleep, and what can be done about them.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes, entirely. The study is designed to be delivered remotely, which means it is available to you regardless of where you are located. All consultations, assessments, and delivery of your Living Well Blueprint take place online.
-
This study does not require renovation or permanent alteration of your space. The majority of what shapes how a space feels -light, sound, texture, layout, and sensory balance- can be addressed without touching a single wall. Renters are welcome.
-
The study is designed to work around your life, not interrupt it. Outside of scheduled consultations, you can expect to spend roughly thirty to forty-five minutes per week engaging with the process; observing, responding to prompts, and implementing small adjustments.
-
The study closes with a completed Living Well Blueprint, a documented record of your environment's needs, the adjustments made, and the conditions that support your wellbeing. This is yours to keep, return to, and build from long after the study concludes.
-
If you have a sense that your space is affecting your energy, focus, or sleep but have not been able to identify exactly why, this study was designed for you. The application will give us both a clearer picture of whether this is the right fit before any commitment is made.
-
Intake is limited and reviewed on a rolling basis. Submitting your application is the best way to secure your place in the next available cohort.
